Join the Bishop's Pilgrimage from Staunton to Tutshill 24th Mar

Bishop Michael is walking from Staunton to Tutshill on Saturday 24th March, calling in for prayers at church buildings along the route. He invites his parishioners to join him for all or part of the journey.

The pilgrimage starts at All Saints' Church, Staunton, with morning prayer at 9.00am before setting off for a short 2 mile walk to St Saviour's, Redbrooke. Contact Sarah Bick if you would like to join this part of the journey, particularly if you require a parking space at Staunton. 01594 835476

After leaving here at 10.30am a 4 mile uphill walk, the hardest leg of the journey, will take the pilgrims to St Mary's Church at St Briavels for a Eucharist service. Physical sustenance of lunch will also be available at the pub at 1:15pm. Contact Rev Francis Buxton (01594 531052) if you would like to order a meal.

Leaving St Briavels village at 2pm, a walk of just under 2 miles will take the pilgrims to St Mary Magdalene Church at Hewelsfield for "Prayers on the Way" scheduled at 2.40pm. Contact Rev F Buxton.

A further 2.5miles to St Michael and All Angels at Tidenham Chase will bring the pilgrims into our parish, arriving for prayers at 3.50pm and from here, a near 2 mile walk to St Mary's at Tidenham, arriving for prayers at 4.45pm, will form the penultimate leg of the journey. The band of pilgrims will set out for their final destination at St Luke's to arrive at 5.30pm for Evening Prayer and much deserved refreshments.
