Visit by teachers from our partner schools in India

We are very much looking forward to receiving three teachers from schools in our partner Diocese of Dornakal in India in the next couple of weeks.

A cluster of schools in our Deanery - Redbrooke, St Johns' Coleford and Tutshill C of E primary schools - have been working together to build a partnership with three church schools in India. The schools applied for and received a grant from the British Council's Global Schools Partnership scheme to make these visits possible. A teacher from each of the UK schools will go on a return visit in July 2012 to strengthen the relationship.

The aim of the visits is to develop a curriculum project that children can undertake in each pair of schools to explore issues of identity & diversity, justice & equity, sustainability & development. The wider aim of the project is to introduce a global perspective to the children's learning and also to establish a mutually benficial relationship between schools, encouraging children to see their place in the greater church family.
