Prayer and healing

Prayer is a gift from God, helping us to draw close to him and to seek his help in times of need. We believe that prayer is an important ministry and welcome requests from anyone who wants our support in seeking him and his help.

Prayer meetings

People gather at St Mary's Tidenham for a traditional act of morning prayer each Monday at 9.30am for half an hour. On the first Wednesday of the month at 9am there is a more informal prayer meeting at St Luke's, when we gather to wait on God and to listen to what he may be saying to the church so that we can direct our prayers effectively.

Prayer Ministry

There is a team of people trained to minister in prayer to others for healing or other spiritual, emotional or physical needs. Such prayer is on offer after the morning service at St Luke’s each week or appointments can be arranged for a more dedicated session of prayer ministry.

If you would like to arrange an appointment, in the first instance please contact the Vicar.

Healing services

During the year we hold special healing services with Holy Communion, when people are invited to ask for prayer for healing and can be anointed with oil. Details of these services are published in the Parish Magazine, on the pewsheet and the calendar.

Prayer support

Names can be included on the weekly pewsheet of those who have requested prayer, either for illness or other needs. If you would like your name added to the pewsheet please e-mail tidenhamparishnotices@gmail.com. It is always encouraging to hear of how God has responded to our prayers and testimonies of answered prayer can be shared via the church magazine or pewsheet.
